Dr. Joseph Ramos, Founder of Ramos Law has loved flight all his life. After hearing the rumble of the windows from fighter jets in his hometown, he spent time studying at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. He is a licensed instrument-rated general aviation pilot and combines his passion for flying with his love of law and medicine to serve the aviation community across the country.
Dr. Ramos grew up and left his small town, but the values he learned from his parents have stayed with him. He paid his own way through college, medical school, and later – law school. Dr. Ramos has led a very active life from hunting and fishing with his kids, to achieving a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, to trying out for the Olympic trapshooting team at 13 years old, and to becoming a private pilot.
It was during his medical career providing expert medical testimony that Dr. Ramos realized he could help people even more with a law degree, so he went to law school. He learned as a medical expert that personal injury claims are more about the injuries than the law. To present the injuries to an insurance company or a jury, you must understand them. For this reason, as a medical doctor, he is a very effective personal injury attorney.

Joseph LoRusso is the Director of Aviation Law at Ramos Law. Joe attended the United States Air Force Academy and graduated from Metro State University of Denver. He attended law school at Washburn University School of Law in the great aviation state of Kansas. In addition to being known as one of the industries “go-to” legal resource for pilots from across the nation, Joe is also an active pilot himself. He is ATP rated and holds two type ratings in classic Learjets and Citations. When not representing airmen, Joe continues to contract on several jet aircrafts including a weather research Learjet, which he circumnavigated the world with while participating in weather research missions such as NASA’s CAMP2EX. Despite his work in jet aircraft, Joe is a tailwheel pilot at heart. He utilizes his CFI to transition owners into all models of carbon cub bush airplanes, and he airshows in a 1943 Boeing Stearman. For Joe, aviation is more than a career or hobby, it is a lifelong passion and identity. He understands what flying means to pilots and works tirelessly advocating for pilots to exercise what should be a right, rather than a privilege.
